Traveling from Copenhagen to Rome

Postby copenhagentorome » 12 Jan 2012 - 04:07

Hi, this is my first post and am still learning to navigate the site so sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum!

I am interested in traveling from Copenhagen to Rome via train/boat/etc. Not by plane.

Can anyone give me a realistic timeframe this would include, how much money it would cost, and the actual reality of traveling (ie. Copenhagen -> boat -> train to here, etc).

Thanks!

Traveling from Copenhagen to Rome

Hi.
And welcome to the railcc forum. :)
It is easy to get to Rome by train.
The question is: do you want to travel only to Rome and stay there? Do you want a return travel?
Are you European or Non-European?
As it is important fr the type of ticket I can recommend you. :)

Copenhagen to Munich:
https://en.rail.cc/train-connec ... ermany/370

Munich to Rome:
https://en.rail.cc/train-connec ... -italy/144

On both routes you can make use of night trains if you like.

Peter :)

Traveling from Copenhagen to Rome

Peter;

I am planning an European trip from my home here in Halifax, Canada and Googled "Rome to Copenhagen by train" and was directed to your site.

I just want to comment on how thorough and complete your advice is to the poster who sought information on a similar trip but in the opposite direction from my own.

I would like to congratulate you on your terrific advice and assure you that I will be returning to your site as my travel date approaches and will most certainly tell my friends and colleagues about this great site

Traveling from Copenhagen to Rome

Hi Allan.
That's very nice to hear.
If you travel several legs, think about an Eurail pass: https://en.rail.cc/eurail
Otherwise point to point tickets to special prices are often available, if you know your exact travel date and you book early.
You can book for example at https://bahn.rail.cc first the leg Copenhagen-Munich and then as second Munich-Rome. Both are available as e-tickets and at this site you get the cheapest fares as it is based on the website of Deutsche Bahn (German railway) which is running the trains you will use.
And if you have future questions do not hesitate to ask.
Have a good time and best wishes, Peter :)
