Black Sea Beaches

Postby nadinandangus » 03 Jul 2009 - 11:28

Anyone have any tips for good Black Sea beaches?

We've read some negative things about Sofia on these boards, in a heavily packed one month itinerary, is it worth it to make a push for Bulgaria?

hi ...
there is a night train going to Varna... coming from Beograd ... and on your way back you can stop in Sofia ... nice to do ... but from Varna you have to take buses to go on. So you will need time. if you really want to have some days of beach holiday, calculate at least 5 days - otherwise it isn't worth to do it.

yeah, I agree with Peter. Bulgaria is def worth it though, cos its SOOOOOO cheap! £5 for 2 courses + drink at a reasonable restaurant. If you cant make it all the way to the coast you might be able to make it to Veliko Tarnovo, which is a cool student city with an awesome castle
